Privacy Policy

Effective July 30, 2026

FlowDub translates audio playing in a browser tab into live subtitles and optional dubbed audio. This policy explains what is processed, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

Information FlowDub processes

How processing works

Audio or timed caption text is sent over an encrypted connection to FlowDub's server and then to Google Gemini to generate translations, subtitles, and optional speech. Capture begins only after you press Start capture and ends when you press Stop, close the captured tab, or the connection ends.

FlowDub does not use captured content for advertising and does not sell personal information. Raw audio and translated captions are processed in memory and are not intentionally stored on FlowDub's server. Caption history remains on your device unless you export it.

Service providers

FlowDub uses Amazon Web Services to operate its translation server and Google Gemini to process audio, text, and generated speech. Google's handling of content depends on the Gemini API service tier. Under unpaid Gemini services, Google states that submitted content and generated responses may be used to improve its products and may be reviewed by humans. Under paid Gemini services, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products.

Do not use FlowDub with sensitive, confidential, or personal communications while it is connected to unpaid Gemini services. Learn more in the Gemini API Terms, Google Privacy Policy, and AWS Privacy Notice.

Retention and control

Use Stop capture to end live processing. Use Clear in Caption history to remove locally stored captions. Uninstalling FlowDub removes extension data stored by Chrome. Demo usage records and operational logs are retained only as needed to operate, secure, and enforce limits for the service.

You should only capture content you are authorized to process. Meeting and call audio may contain personal communications; inform participants and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

Security and Chrome data

FlowDub uses HTTPS and secure WebSockets for data in transit and restricts extension access to the permissions needed for its features. FlowDub's use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

FlowDub may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes that affect audio or personal-data processing will be presented in the extension and may require renewed consent.
